This textbook is intended for third-year students of the training direction 45.03.02 "Linguistics (Theoretical and Applied Linguistics)" of the Department of Law and Social Sciences, Department of Philology, as well as for a wide range of people studying English and interested in country studies. The purpose of the manual is to systematize and deepen knowledge about the geography, history, politics, social reality, and culture of the United Kingdom and to form and develop regional and linguistic-regional competence necessary for adequate knowledge of a foreign language as a means of intercultural, interpersonal, and professional communication. It can be used for both classroom and independent work of students.
