This study guide is based on the lectures given by the authors to students of the Moscow Aviation Institute technical faculties and contains learning material presented in accordance with the syllabus sections “Computational methods of linear algebra”, “Numerical methods for solving nonlinear equations and systems of nonlinear equations” and “Theory of approximation of functions and its applications” of discipline “Numerical methods”, which is a common one for MAI students engaged in various fields of study, including “Applied mathematics and informatics”. The guide can be used to teach students, pursuing a bachelor's or a specialist's degree, the “Numerical methods” discipline, so that they could acquire appropriate skills in developing algorithms and writing programs. For master's undergraduates, graduates and researchers, the guide may serve as a reference textbook, dedicated to methods of computational mathematics.
