The manual is intended for international students studying the discipline “Philosophy” in English. The manual presents the main problems of philosophy, the historical stages of the development of philosophical thought, philosophical schools and trends. Special attention is paid to the state of modern philosophy, its connection with scientific knowledge and social transformations. To organize the work of students, the manual has developed basic questions on the study of the content of topics for each historical epoch of the development of philosophy, presents basic concepts and categories, gives questions for reports and messages, discussion ques- tions for group discussion, control questions, test tasks, lists of basic and additional literature, a list of recommended books and scientific journals, domestic and foreign electronic publications and resources. The textbook on the discipline “Philosophy” is compiled in accordance with the modern Russian educational standard.
